The search for the Caribbean's Next Supermodel, Pulse's widely acclaimed Caribbean Model Search, steps up several notches this year as its reach widens to include the United Kingdom, Canada and the US as well as Caribbean islands not previously targeted.

Similarly, the reality television series for both the Jamaica & Caribbean legs will now include local shows in these additional territories as well as a much greater participation at the international finals.

Here at home, the agency says the event has already attracted hundreds of contestants who now visit Pulse for this reason on year-round basis. The exploits of previous winners such as Jaunel, Nell, Carla, Sunna, Rochelle, Nicole, Oraine and Khalil are well documented through an ever-widening network of press, Pulse TV affiliates and major international media such as Fashion TV.

A new cadre of Pulse stars such as Jeneil Williams, Gaye McDonald (CMS 2005 winner) Shevolee Bell (CMS 2006 winner), Khalil Marks, Audia Tomlin, Daniel Lowe, Danielle Bowen and Trinidad's Kenwyn Millington have started their own charge to supermodel status, earning kudos from Benetton, Lacoste and others, and including covers for such magazines as Luire and BMM, fashion's standard bearers in Japan and Italy respectively. There has also been a slew of new signings by some of these new faces to Next, Click, Major and New York Models, all major New York agencies.
In Jamaica, the 2006 reality TV show, which grabbed the attention of a strong and loyal following, will see enhanced visibility in line with the show's appeal and establishment. New initiatives, creatives, personalities and improved production will be added to the existing core value of the programme.

The Caribbean Model Search, says Pulse GM Romae Gordon, boasts a rich history of world-class talent through the years. The accomplishments of Althea Laing scoring the Caribbean's first cover for Essence magazine back in 1986 and Kimberley Mais' brilliant stint as the top model in Japan in the early '90s gave way to such talent as Angela Neil, Nikki Morris, Trudy Gray, Juline Samuels and the Caribbean's first Vogue cover from Lois Samuels. Nikki Vassel, Parisa Fitz-Henley and Carla Campbell are CMS alumni still making significant impact on the world of modelling and entertainment.

Vassel has been recently featured in Avon campaigns, Fitz-Henley has moved into acting and Campbell's sexy image is still a super sell, having had covers and editorials for Esquire and Sports Illustrated. The era of Nadine Willis and Jaunel McKenzie has blazed an unprecedented trail which continues to this day.
